Oh hush up about the Future: one morning it will appear, right there on your breakfast plate, and you'll yell "Take it back," pounding the table. But there won't be any waiters.
This is an open notebook. When something reaches a certain stage I publish it here. I rarely consider it finished; only ready for other eyes. Criticism (encouraging, harsh, whatever you think is appropriate) is welcome. Don't just tell me the good lines (although that's always a good place to start). Tell me what is worthless, that which I absolutely have to return to and continue to work on. Praise is easy (but always welcome). Criticism is hard work. How I can repay you I have no idea, except to become a better poet and share them with you here.
Dedication
This blog is dedicated to the memory of Seraphia Leyda and Dr. Raeburn Miller, who taught me at the University of New Orleans long ago. One gave me great encouragement and the other an appreciation for poetry that has lasted decades. I would not be writing today if not for them.
